How do I use a credit or debit card at Rakuten.com?

Rakuten.com accepts domestic and international credit and debit cards as a form of payment at checkout for both account holders and guests. Account holders have the added bonus of being able to store multiple cards for easy access.

Credit and Debit Cards Accepted

The domestic and international credit and debit cards accepted at Rakuten.com are:

We do not currently offer the ability to use multiple credit cards on a single purchase, although we hope to offer that service in the future.

Also, please be sure to provide your exact billing address and telephone number as recorded with your credit card company to assure proper processing. P.O., A.P.O., or F.P.O. boxes are accepted for billing addresses, but we are unable to ship to them.

Using a Card as a Payment Method

If you are a first time customer or checking out as a guest, you can select a credit or debit card when you select your payment method on the “Payment” page during checkout.

If you are a returning Rakuten.com Account holder, your previous payment information will be saved.  If you would like to change your payment method, select “Change” under “Pay With”

This will bring you to the payment method page that will allow you to add a new credit & debit card. If you would like to save this payment method for future use, click the box at the bottom “Save Card Information”.

All orders using this payment method will require the 3 or 4 digit security code from the back of the card.

International Debit and Credit Cards

You can use an international debit and credit card by selecting the country of origin when entering your Billing Address information.

If you cannot locate a country from the list of countries in the drop down menu for international payment methods, it is because we do not accept credit cards originating from that country. We are always adding new countries to our list, so please check back for updates to that list.

Accessing Your Credit and Debit Card Information

To access your credit and debit card information, please:

1. Click the "My Account" drop down menu located at the top of any page and sign into your account

2. Once signed in, click on “My Account”

3. Click “Credit Card Information” from the menu located on the left side of the page and it will take you to your stored “Credit Cards”

Adding Credit and Debit Card Information

1. Click on “Add New Card”  to add a new card

2. Enter the card number, expiration date, and the name that appears on the card

3. If you would like this to be the main card used in your account, check the box “Set as default card”

4. You will then need to select the Billing Address associated with your credit or debit card

5. If you need to enter a new address, click the button “Add Address”

6. Enter your password and press “Add Card”

Editing Credit and Debit Card Information

1. Click on “Edit” to edit your credit and debit card information.

2. You can edit the card number, expiration date, and name on card

3. If you would like this to be the main card used in your account, check the box “Set as default card”

4. You will then need to select the Billing Address associated with your credit or debit card.

5. If you need to enter a new address, click the button “Add Address”

6. Enter your password and press “Save Changes”

Deleting Credit and Debit Card Information

1. If you have multiple credit and debit cards stored, locate the card and click “Delete” on the left side of the card information

2. Enter your password and press “Delete”
